High School Gospel 2008
Always wanted to sing gospel music? Here’s your chance – participate in an exciting all day workshop with several high school gospel choirs and be in a concert the same day. You can’t resist a 1-day commitment! See Ms. Brown in Room 174 for details. No experience necessary and every is encouraged to participate.
Medea
The play Medea opens in the Little Theatre this weekend. Come see a new translation of the ancient story of a woman driven to kill because she has been scorned by her husband. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and Monday at 4:00 and 7:30 p.m.

The local competition will be held April 26 at Malcolm X College from 8am until 2pm. All students must participate in a preliminary run through before competing on “Fun Friday,” April 4 during all lunch periods or on Saturday April 5 or April 19. See Ms. LeCesne for details.

Freedom Readers
Plan to meet directly after school this Thursday, on the second floor library (Room 296) to continue our book discussions and talk about the upcoming play. All are welcome to join in on our discussions of vital issues from the book Covenant in Action by Tavis Smiley and Cornel West.

Science Fiction and Fantasy Club
Sci-Fi will be meeting Thursday, after school in Mr. Faust's room. We will be sharing the progress we have made with OPCon over break. Be prepared to be impressed!
ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT/SCHOLARSHIPS/OPPORTUNITIES
Bulletin #3 -- Summer Programs offered by Universities throughout the country and abroad, is now available in the Counselor’s Office, in the College Center, in our SUMMER FILE and on our school website. Please pay attention to registration deadlines so you don’t miss out. If you have any questions, see Ms. Ames in the Counselor’s Office – Room 207.
Attention ALL Students
Today is a special schedule (see below) with a 1-hour period between 2nd and 3rd periods. Juniors will register for the state-required PSAE ACT test while freshmen, sophomores, and seniors take a school survey. 2nd period teachers will post a spreadsheet so you can determine your classroom location for these activities. Look for your year in school and the room location for the letters of your last name to fine your room location. The spreadsheet will be posted in several hallways around the school.
Juniors
If you are interested in taking a school bus to the Lyons Township College Fair for juniors on the evening of April 9, please be sure to pick up a bus application from your counselor’s secretary in 207 or 208. All applications must be returned by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. You may also drive to the fair but parking is limited and you may have to take a shuttle bus from the Lyons South campus to their North campus. The fair is free and will be held on the Lyons North campus from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on April 9. Further information can be obtained in the 207 and 208 Counselor Offices. (R. Deptuch)

If you signed up for the Triton On-Site Registration Day, report IMMEDIATELY to the 2nd floor Library. Registration begins TODAY at 9am.
SAT Test Prep
SAT test prep classes for juniors started this week and are being held in Rooms 227 and 288. They run Mondays and Wednesdays either at 4:00 or 7:00 p.m. and continue through April 30.
