You can recycle it? The Biology/Environmental Club is collecting old cell phones and rechargeable batteries all this week. Bring them to Room 117. (M. Urbanski)
Percy Julian Symposium
Students interested in participating in the 2008 Percy Julian Symposium held here in our library on April 19 need to submit their applications by March 1. For applications or more information, see Mr. Costopoulos in Room 128.

Check out the Relay for Life table during lunch today through Friday. Get a group of friends together and sign up your team.
Winter Musical
Looking for something exciting and fun to do? Come see OPRF's energetic winter musical Crazy For You with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin! See the work of over 100 students and faculty in this tap dancing musical spectacle. Opening this weekend: Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday March 2 at 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium and next weekend March 7 & 8 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults.

ACTSO
Preparation workshops will be held on Saturdays at Malcolm X College in Room 2205 on March 1 and 8 from 9 a.m. until noon. Ongoing auditions for ACTSO’s Fun Friday talent show will be every Monday after school in Room 308.

Our first meeting and casting day will be this Thursday at 3:15 p.m. in the 3rd floor dance studio. Please be there on time so we can get out by 4:00 p.m. SENIOR CHOREOGRAPHERS - Remember that you are meeting me today after school to show me choreography. No choreography....no dance! Attention next year's seniors: Applications for the Senior Instructional Leadership Corps (SILC) for the 2008 - 2009 school year are now available. Pick up the program overview and application in Room 373. Deadline to submit your application is March 7, 2008. (Ms. Hill)
Sophomore and Juniors
Here's your chance to win up to $1,000! That's the top prize for the winning essay in the annual essay contest sponsored by Superior Medical Associates. $500, $300, and $200 prizes are also awarded for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place essays. This year's topic is "What do you consider a major health or social issue facing teenagers today? What are the solutions?" The deadline is Feb. 29. Details and instructions are available at the Welcome Center and in the Student Activities Center. OPRF has had a top four winner each of the last four years! This year, it could be you!
