Freshman, sophomore, and junior students who DID NOT receive the new 2008 - 2009 Academic Catalog for OPRF in their 2nd period class may pick one up in Room 373.
Black Professional Day
The eighth annual Black Professional Day is Wednesday, February 20 in the Library. Successful African Americans have volunteered to speak with you about their paths to success. If you are interested in attending, please obtain a registration form from Ms. Swope in Room 348. Forms can be returned to Ms. Swope or Mrs. Glenn in the Library by Wednesday, Feb. 13. There will be no late or on-the-day registration.
B.O.S.S. Initiative
During the 2nd semester B.O.S.S. Club is resuming its weekly tutorial program to assist you in excelling academically. From 7:15 -7:50 a.m. and 3:15 - 4:00 p.m. tutors will be available to assist you in Room 430. Need help preparing for a test, a quiet place to do work, a computer for research, got a book report or research paper due and you need help? No problem. Bring your books and let's get to work!
IHSA Regional Speech Team -- 3rd place Team, advancing to Sectionals!
Congratulations to Speech Team capturing 3rd place team honors at Maine West High School advancing 9 out of 13 events to Sectionals! Two Regional Champions: Lakshmi Sundaresan in Extempore Speaking and Jessica Smith in Radio Speaking. Other team members advancing to Sectionals are Megan Cheney, Paul Deziel, Ian Flanagan, Anna Hullinger, Steve Selwa, and Emily Smith. Good luck at Sectionals this Saturday at Oak Lawn H.S.!
