Costa Rica
Last call for students interested in participating in the Field Tropical Ecology course going to Costa Rica this summer! There will be a short informational meeting for those who were unable to attend before winter break. If you cannot make this meeting please see Mrs. Bohne as soon as possible to pick up all necessary information and to schedule an interview. The informational meeting is this Thursday, January 10 in Room 118 after school at 3:15 p.m. See you on Thursday!

Field Biology
Take a hike...earn science credit. The field biology trip to the Smokies may not happen due to lack of interest! If you are interested, please attend an informational meeting either at 7:30 a.m. or 3:15 p.m. in Room 129 on January 8. If you cannot attend, please contact Ms. Remack ASAP!!
Summer Field Marine Biology
Interested in learning about the life in our oceans? How about traveling to Florida to explore the world "under the sea?" Join us on the experience of a lifetime this summer. Students interested in taking part in the Field Marine Biology Class please see Mrs. Bayer in Room 287 at either 7:30 a.m. or 3:10 p.m. Wednesday to get information.

B.O.S.S. Organization
Well, it’s that time of the year again and the Heritage Morp is just around the corner. The 12th annual Heritage Morp is Friday, January 25t from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Each year several student rappers, wordsmiths, and poets are featured. This year there will be "3." If you would like to be chosen to present your skills at the Heritage Morp on stage live in front a big audience then bring a CD demo of your talent to Room #430 by 3:05 PM CST Friday (Jan 11th). The winners will be notified by Jan 21st. $100.00 cash prize will be awarded after presentations at the Heritage Morp. Thanks!
Gospel Choir
Gospel Choir members, who wish, may stop by the Student Activity Center after school all this week for a quite place to study, study with a group or for tutoring. Also, there will be an important rehearsal tomorrow to prepare for the Martin Luther King, Jr. assembly being held this Friday. (L. Brown)

Stop by for semester one exam study table all this week before school from 7:15 until 7:55 a.m. and after school from 3:05 until 3:45. (D. Alexander)
Psychology Club
Do you sweat and feel like you’re going to pass out when you take a test? The Psychology Club is offering strategies to overcome your exam-o-phobia and improve your test-taking skills. Two sessions are offered Thursday, January 10 in Room 368 at either 7:30 a.m. or 3:15 p.m.
Spoken Word Mandatory Meetings
Mandatory meetings for our Winter Showcase are today and Thurs. at 3:20 p.m. sharp in Room 370. Get your blue commitment contracts to Mr. Kahn asap.
SPORTS CORNER
Boys’ Tack & Field
The Track & Field season starts Monday, January 14, please have your blue cards turned in to Coach Hasso by this Friday to be eligible for the indoor season and compete in the 1st meet. The preseason continues through Thurs. this week and if you plan on participating on the team, we need you in the field house promptly at 3:30 p.m. on those days, ready to train. Handouts and important information will be shared at these workouts. Athletes currently participating in a winter sport, that wish to join the team are to see Coach Hasso on the 3rd floor library at the conclusion of their winter sport.
Boys’ Lacrosse
All boys interested in playing lacrosse in the spring must attend a short informational meeting this Friday at 3:15 p.m. in Room 370. We will discuss equipment, pre-season conditioning, and tryout requirements. Bring all questions to Coach Ganschow in Room 305.
Female Track and Field Athletes
You must register for the Girls Track and Field Team today through Friday, Jan. 11. Pick up the registration forms outside of the Athletic Office, and return them to the Athletic Office before Friday. Tryouts begin on Monday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Field House. Practices are mandatory, but will be very brief during final exams. We will not accept athletes after Monday, Jan. 14, unless they are currently on a winter sport.
Girls’ Soccer Meeting
There will be an informational meeting for this Thursday morning in Room 371 at 7:33 a.m. Open gym, tryouts and expectations will be discussed. (P. Wright)

Come out tonight and support OPRF’s Special Olympic Basketball team at Lyons Township at 6:00 p.m.
