Employee Assistance Program
The EAP is a free,
voluntary and confidential service designed to help employees and/or members of
their immediate family seek solutions to personal problems. A phone to the EAP
will connect the employee with a professional counselor who will evaluate the
situation and assist in selecting the best way to handle the problem. Not all
problems have immediate or apparent solutions, but the EAP can assist by
providing confidential assessment, short-term counseling and/or referral
services. The EAP can assist with problems such as: depression, stress,
alcohol/drug dependence, marital/family relationship problems, eating disorders,
legal difficulties, financial problems, and childcare concerns. Your privacy is protected.
Cost: The
initial problem assessment and two more problem-solving sessions are free to the
employee and their family members. If further assistance is necessary, the
employee's regular health insurance and/or other benefits will be considered. If
services that are not covered by insurance are necessary, the counselor will try
to help the employee minimize the cost by making referrals to the most
appropriate agency. These costs will be the employee's responsibility, but many
times, services are available which are based on the individual's ability to
pay.
